Der September steht ganz im Zeichen der Shetlandwool Week.
Deshalb möchten wir Euch heute
Yule von SusanCrawfordVintage
vorstellen.
Yule ist ein klassischer Fair Isle mit aussagekräftigem Muster in vielfältigen Farben von Susan´s Garn Fenella, welches wir ebenfalls im Shop führen.
Das Besondere am Yule ist,
dass das Pattern unisex angelegt ist, also sowohl als Damen- wie Herrenmodell getragen werden kann.
Der abgesetzte Rollkragen macht ihn auch an unruhigen Shetland Tagen zum gemütlichen Begleiter.
Der Jumper wird gesteekt, also in Runden gestrickt und dann für die Armlöcher aufgeschnitten.
Klingt komplizierter, als es ist, und kann eine tolle Herausforderung sein, um das nächste StrickerInnen Level zu erreichen.
In Shetland heisst es übrigens Jumper, wenn der Pullover gemeint ist.
Das Pattern entstammt Susan´s grandiosem Buch
"The Shetland Vintage Project"
an welchem sie sieben Jahre recherchiert und geschrieben hat.

Yule is a classic Fair Isle with a meaningful pattern in a variety of colors from Susan's yarn Fenella, which we also have in the shop.
You can find the pattern here.
The speciality about Yule is
that the pattern is unisex. It can be worn by both women and men.
The separate turtleneck makes it a comfortable companion even on windy Shetland days.
The jumper is steeked, knitted in rounds
and then cut open for the armholes.
Sounds more complicated than it is and can be a great challenge to get to the next knitting level.
Incidentally, in Shetland it is called jumper when the sweater is meant.
The pattern comes from Susan's amazing book
"The Shetland Vintage Project"
on which she researched and wrote for seven years.
A standard work that is unparalleled anywhere in the world.
